Attention: India imposes antidumping duty on these items imported from China

India initiates another trade probe on China while these two countries are still in the dispute of boundary. According to a government notification, the duty was imposed on 93 kinds of item imported from China with a maximum of 184%, which seems to be starting the “second battle field of China-India”.

As BY56 logistics know, there are about 93 kinds of items will be subject to unti-dumping duties, mainly including chemical and petrochemical, steel and other metal products, fiber and yarn, mechanical products, rubber or plastic products, electronic products and consumer goods etc..

According to the India government, anti-dumping measures are taken to ensure fair trade and provide a level-playing field to the domestic industry. They are not a measure to restrict imports or cause an unjustified increase in cost of products. They complained of dumping and consequent injury and requested for levy of anti-dumping duty on the imports from some countries including China. Besides, the India tyre makers complained about the imported tyre from China has hurt its industrial. Some tyre makers suggest the India government to increase the customs duty on chinese cargo and tyres up to 184%.

China has been on the focus of anti-dumping project of India for years, and most of its anti-dumping measures aims to China. BY56 logistics suggests that the trading companies and forwarders should be fully prepared for this issue to avoid disagreement and conflict.
